Motivation Mondays

So.. I need some motivation.. Because I need to get to Egypt in 2017.. and I know I need to work very hard to get there.

I wanted this to be a Bae-cation.. but I don’t have a bae.. so I’ll have to go with some friends..lol

I’m currently learning about the original settler of Kemet so I’m super geeked!!

Broken hearts

You were not my type.. But your willingness to listen to me attracted me.. I remember out first time meet up.. We sat in my front yard and talked until 5 am and I knew I had to be on the road by 6 am.. I liked your mind.. I liked how you took care of those around you.. But I couldn’t stand another heart break.. I coasted with you for months.. Leaving you at arms length.. I finally decided to let you in.. I told you my pain.. I air my dirty laundry.. I trusted you.. I believed you.. You told me that you loved me.. I didn’t say it back because I wanted to be sure.. I let you love me.. I gave myself to you.. All I wanted in return was love and honesty.. I wanted to be there for you during your tragic times.. I prayed for you when I couldn’t pray for myself.. During my hard Times you weren’t there.. I adjusted.. I moved forward.. You popped back up.. You left again… Tragedy stuck once more.. There I am.. Trying to heal you..  And you take.. And take.. Nothing to be reciprocated…. I over extend.. You reassure me that it’s no one else.. I believe you.. And I believe you.. And I believe you.. Until I stop blocking the good sense that my ancestors gave me. I prayed to the most high.. I prayed to my inner self.. I prayed for peace.. And my answer came.. Its not me .. It was you.. You were attracted to my nurturing ..  What I have.. You needed..   But I have nothing left.. Nothing but pieces.. Pieces of a broken heart.

First yoga class

So today I started my first yoga class. Boy was I nervous. Seemed like the closer I go to 5pm.. The more my stomach begin to knot up. The class was small and intimate, and it was what was needed. Today was super busy.. Now tomorrow starts a new journey.. I’m doing something I never done before.. To get what I’ve never had before.. I kinda been doing that lately.

to whom much is given…

given

I love the song late nights and early morning.. shoot I’ve experienced some in the pass few weeks that i wouldn’t trade for the world..

But I’m now experiencing the work side of it.

And I don’t like it.

With my business growing leaps and bounds these last few months.. with my job going through tremendous changes these last 6 months I don’t have enough time in the day!

I am exhausted.. like seriously.

In order to satisfy both  my career and business I have to give up some of my nights and my mornings to stay above water. The sacrifice is real!..

but it worth it!

Be self motivatied

Its only so much you can do to help motivate someone.. Sometimes you have to stop and let the chips fall where they may.. Here are a few tips on how to be self- Motivated when you can only depend on you.

My 8 Steps

Here is a new list that is a little more generic:

  • 1. Start simple. Keep motivators around your work area – things that give you that initial spark to get going.
  • 2. Keep good company. Make more regular encounters with positive and motivated people. This could be as simple as IM chats with peers or a quick discussion with a friend who likes sharing ideas.
  • 3. Keep learning. Read and try to take in everything you can. The more you learn, the more confident you become in starting projects.
  • 4. Stay Positive. See the good in bad. When encountering obstacles, you want to be in the habit of finding what works to get over them.
  • 5. Stop thinking. Just do. If you find motivation for a particular project lacking, try getting started on something else. Something trivial even, then you’ll develop the momentum to begin the more important stuff.
  • 6. Know yourself. Keep notes on when your motivation sucks and when you feel like a superstar. There will be a pattern that, once you are aware of, you can work around and develop.
  • 7. Track your progress. Keep a tally or a progress bar for ongoing projects. When you see something growing you will always want to nurture it.
  • 8. Help others. Share your ideas and help friends get motivated. Seeing others do well will motivate you to do the same. Write about your success and get feedback from readers.

Deep

Two young ladies arrived a Meeting wearing clothes that were quite revealing their body
parts. Here is what the Chairman told them:He took a good look at them and made them sit. Then he said something that, they might never forget in their life. He looked at them straight in the eyes and said; “ladies, everything that God made valuable in this world is well covered and hardly to see, find or get.

1. Where do you find diamonds? Deep down in the ground, covered and protected.

2. Where do you find pearls? Deep down at the bottom of the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell.

3. Where do you find gold? Way down in the mine, covered over with layers of rock and to get them, you have to work hard & dig deep down to get them.

He looked at them with serious eyes and said;
“Your body is sacred & unique” You are far more precious than gold, diamonds and pearls, and you should be covered too.”So he added that, if you keep your treasured mineral just like gold, diamond and pearls, deeply covered up, a reputable mining organization with the requisite machinery will fly down and conduct years of extensive exploration.

First, they will contact your government (family), sign professional contracts (wedding) and mine you professionally( legal marriage). But if you leave
your precious minerals uncovered on the surface of the earth, you always attract a lot of illegal miners to come and mine you illegally.Everybody will just pick up their crude instruments and just have a dig on you just freely like that. Keep your
bodies deeply covered so that it invite professional miners to chase you.

Let us all encourage our wives, friends and daughters to dress well and decent!

10 Things to make your life easy

Shanel Cooper-Sykes's photo.

LIFE is meant to be enjoyed. But you have to intentionally design your life to be able to experience that. Here are 10 things that I do that make my life super easy and enjoyable:

1⃣ I spend the first hour of my day in peace and in prayer. Before I touch the phone or begin my day, I spend time with God, talking planning visualizing and praying for the things I want to manifest in that day. I get in alignment FIRST before anything or anyone has an opportunity to move me.

2⃣ I keep my goals and plans in front of me. Directly next to my bed is a card with the current goals I am working towards and the plans that I have for myself. I read them and pray over them several times a day.

3⃣ I prepare my meals in advance. To prevent eating out or over indulging, I prep my meals for the week on Sunday. I cook, package and plan out what will go in my body for the week.

4⃣ I “reset” my mind nightly. I never go to bed with the day on my mind. I let go of my thoughts. I forgive moments that bothered or upset me. I send love and peace to those I love and to those who don’t love me. I say to myself “Shanel you did a good job today!” And I rest in peace.

5⃣ I keep candles lit and fresh flowers all around me all day. Energy and environment shape your ability to be creative and to think on a higher level.

6⃣ I always look good. I make sure my clothes are well put together, clean and crisp. Even if I’m wearing sweats, I’m well put together. I never leave out disheveled or just thrown together. It speaks volumes to the way you value yourself.

7⃣ I don’t force myself to follow a hard schedule. I let my days flow and let God move me. Because I’ve already written it and believe it… I trust my plans will manifest. No resistance. I go with the flow.

8⃣ I talk to myself constantly. I am ALWAYS in intentional inner conversation with myself. I tell myself how capable, amazing, valuable and needed I am. If I pass a mirror I say “hey gorgeous” if I need motivation, I go to a mirror and give myself a pep talk. If I am mad, I discuss my feelings with myself. The parts of my body I don’t like, I tell it “I love you and I’m going to make you better.” If I don’t get something, I ask the Holy Spirit to teach me. I make sure that I’m rehearsing in my mind what I want to see play out in my day.and I’m always SPEAKING OUT what I desire to see happen.

9⃣ I give A LOT. I over-give on a daily basis. If I stop to buy a juice or snack, I pay for two and leave the money at the register for the next customer. If I leave a tip at a restaurant I leave the full amount of what the bill is as a tip. If I get gas, I leave $20 extra for the next person. If someone asks me for a $1 on the street I give them $10. I send money to my family for no reason. I treat my friends to dinner and send them flowers and gifts. I believe HALF of your earnings should always be shared in someway with others. No matter how much you have. This principal has blessed ME in so many ways financially. I am never without because I give so freely. And it has PUSHED my financial limits and money mindset, so I don’t have limits on how much I can RECEIVE. If you go above and beyond to GIVE financially, God will go above and beyond to BLESS you financially.

🔟 I rest frequently. If my body is tired, I listen to it and rejuvenate myself. When I feel stressed or overworked, I stop without worry. Scripture says REST IN GODS PEACE. The spirit of God is IN ME. So my physical body has to be fueled enough to carry it. If my body needs something I supply it, because it must be my spirit that is calling for something so that I can give something greater. REST!! Rest in Gods peace often. You will have more energy then you can imagine.
