Playing in the rain…

Today was one of those days where everything was complete chaos.  When my kids arrived from school.. My daughter asked me if I wanted to jump in puddles with her.

Well why the hell not?

I don’t think I laughed that hard in quite a while.. I have to do that more often.. Today was a good day.

but about the weekend tho

soooo. I haven’t sat down a wrote in a while.. guess I’ll tell y’all about my weekend..

It was…

ttt

Started off at the gym with Spin class. Boy when I tell you my instructor was not playing that morning. I basically did about 5 Beyoncé dance routine on that bike. My knee, thighs and butt was on fire after that 45 minute class. After that intense workout we did family time in the pool. Some times it make me wonder why do folks live in Florida, which is surrounded my water  and don’t know how to swim. Any who, the kids loved it.. gave them a chance to make new friend and cool down.

After the gym we headed over to my mom house to chill out and shoot the breeze.. Well that what I planned on doing. We ended up having a full fledge dance off! We started in the 80’s and worked our way up.

It nothing like some good ol’ Miami Base!.

Saturday night was epic!.. It didn’t start off the way i wanted but it ended quite well, That’s pretty much all I’m gonna say about that (smile)

Sunday was super breezy.. church family time.. and of course i made dinner and dessert. I really enjoy cooking. I  like how cooking brings families together.

If it wasn’t for Georgina.. there would be no Bacardi Rum..

ON my trip to Puerto Rico to celebrate my 30th birthday.. I trekked to the Bacardi Rum Factory. I ended up arriving at 9:00 am.. forgetting that my tour started at 11:30. So I sat a round and took some pictures of the grounds and of the museum. At 11:00 one of the bartenders told me to check out the new restaurant that was recently added to the factory. When I walked in I immediately fell in love!

The decor had a caribbean/ African feel to it.

I  placed my order and decided to walk a round, and boy was i in for a treat.

I stumbled upon this writing on the walk.

This plaque goes on to talk about a house servant named Georgina, who was the wet-nurse and care taker of Don Facundo Bacardi 6 kids. Long story short.. Don was about to get indicted because of is business ties with some unsavory character. So Don wrote letters to the crime bosses and the recipes of the rum and was about to mail them and word got out that the chief of police was on the way to search the home. If Don was caught with the letters  he would be good as dead. So  Georgina said you trust me with your kids, trust me with the letter, I will keep them safe. So one of the kids suggested that she hide the letters under her hat, but there was too many. So Georgina stuck the rum recipes and letters in her bosoms and held the baby close to her and started walking away from the hose just as the police arrived. If it wasn’t for smuggling the letters out.. There would be no Bacardi as we know it.

#25 protest something

image

I decided to protest people who write in all caps. I read my messages.. Facebook stats in certain tones.. So if I see all caps, I automatically think the person is yelling..

Petty I know..lol..

But it was fun to protest something. No kitties were harmed during filming. Shout out to Betty for the help and idea!

Miss Georgia Peach

I don’t know where to start.. I got home from church and became immediately  pissed off. My neighbor keeps parking in my spot.. and on  top of that her friend parked in the other spot. I was LIVID.

I finally knocked on her door and told her  and the 90yr old lady street was shouting ‘that’s right!she know she’s wrong!”
I went into  the house but I could calm down, so I went  across the street to  my 90something year old neighbor house we began to talk.

She start giving me an ear full. and She call my next door neighbor a harlot  jezabel..etc I couldn’t to nothing but laugh.

Then she went on to tell me her life story. She tickled me pink taking about how she moved down here from Georgia  and she use to be called a Miss Georgia Peach and how she made moonshine from pears and peaches.

She  reminds me so much of my late grandma. Me and my grandma would sit out all time of night and talk.. talk about everything.. and nothing. That’s exactly what me and miss Georgia  Peach did tonight . we talked for 2 hours about the mafia.. possums.. cigars.. pole beans and everything else.. she even told me her 14 year old dog got in a fight and killed a Fox!..lol and she curses!

that’s the icing on the cake. I love me a cussing grandma! (weird I know lol)

But she tells it like it is!. I’m going to make it my business to talk with her at least once a week.
